OPTIONAL: Lutheran Teacher Certificate (19 units); Please see 基督学院证书要求 附加要求.  Students typically complete 基督学院证书要求 during eight undergraduate semesters.

OPTIONAL:  Cali为nia Teacher Credential (36 units); Course requirements are available from the 教育学院. The path to a Preliminary CA Single Subject 音乐 Credential usually includes nine semesters of coursework 和 an additional semester of student 教学. Students must pass the Cali为nia Subject Examination 为 Teachers (CSET) prior to student 教学. They must also pass the Cali为nia Basic Skills Test (CBEST) prior to receiving licensure.

然而, 根据2021年的加州法律, students who graduate with a Bachelor of Art in 音乐 degree are exempt from taking the CSET (Cali为nia Subject Examination 为 Teachers). 此外, students are exempt from taking the CBEST if they have received a grade of B- or better in college coursework in 阅读, 写作, 和数学. Eligible classes to fulfill the 阅读 requirement include critical thinking, 文学, P\为ms\Submission Type 2 - Expedited Revisions哲学, 阅读, 修辞, 或者文本分析. Eligible 写作 courses include composition, English, 修辞, written communications, or 写作. Eligible math classes include geometry, mathematics, quantitative reasoning, or statistics

* Concurrent enrollment with EDUC 101 or EDUC 204/EDSP 204 is strongly recommended.
